Top 10 performing stocks

On the top 10 performing stocks last week were shares of P.Z Cusson Plc, Livestock Feeds Plc, Flour Mills of Nigeria Plc, Costain (West Africa) Plc, Dangote Sugar Refinery Plc (DSR) and May & Baker Plc.
The rest were United Bank for Africa Plc, Diamond Bank Plc, Okomu Oil Palm Company Plc and UBA Capital Plc.
PZ Cusson, a household name in personal care, beauty and home care products, led the pack with 28.38 percent or N6.30 increase, closing at N28.50 from N22.20 it started the week at. PZ Cusson, reputed for rewarding investors/shareholders handsomely for their investments in the company paid out approximately N2. 11kobo as dividends this year.

Share index shed 1.74 percent, as oil stocks tumble

The Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) share index fell 1.74 percent on Monday, dragged lower by oil stocks Oando and Seplat, trailing tumbling global oil prices.
The index had fallen to 33,941 points by 1255 GMT. Oando fell almost 10 percent while Seplat lost 5.9 percent.

Access Bank falls 8.2 percent after stock freeze lifted

Shares in Nigeria’s Access Bank fell 8.2 percent on Thursday after the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) lifted a week old price freeze on the stocks, pending a proposed shareholder vote on its N68 billion rights issue on October 13.

Aig-Imoukhuede Becomes NSE President


The Council of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) yesterday appointed former Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Access Bank Plc, Mr.  Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, the president of  the exchange. His appointed made after the 53rd annual general meeting (AGM) of NSE in Lagos, followed the decision of Alhaji Aliko Dangote to step down as the president of the Nigerian bourse.
Although Dangote’s tenure ought to expire next year, he decided to step down to pursue his business expansion across Nigeria and Africa.
Consequently, Aig-Imoukhuede, who was the first vice-president was elected to take over the leadership of the exchange. Mr. Abimbola Ogunbanjo and Mr. Abubakar Mamoud were also elected first vice and second vice presidents respectively.
Speaking on the future of the NSE without him on the council, Dangote said
